Clove

Clove are the unopened and air-dried flower bud of a medium size, evergreen tree. The tree reaches a height of 10 to 12 m and flowers around the age of seven years. Only then does it start to bud, producing flower buds for 80 years or more

Cloves are harvested primarily in Indonesia and Madagascar (including the previously French-farmed Comoros islands), largely hand-picked unopened flower buds by climbing high tropical trees.
